Celebrating Community Through Sound

Chamber Music on the Fox (CMOTF) presents their final concerts of the season June 14th and 15th. The concert program, entitled Resonant Voices, will be an exploration and celebration of the immense contributions of LGBTQ+ composers and musicians to the classical music landscape. The program is guest-curated by Eric Pidluski, a regular performer on the CMOTF series. In a program featuring works by Britten, Higdon, and more, musicians and audiences will honor these individuals’ contributions to music and the vibrant diversity they bring to the art form.
This concert is the second in the 2025-2026 season to be guest-curated by a musician – the first being Heartstrings in February 2026, curated by Eleanor Bartsch. “This guest curation initiative is an exciting new element we are trying this season.” Says Managing Director Elizabeth Rupp. “It is a unique and, we believe, important opportunity to center musicians’ voices in their industry, and utilize our series to introduce a variety of programmatic choices to our audiences.” In the 2025-2026 season, CMOTF has been partnering with local nonprofit organizations to shine a spotlight on the good work these groups are doing for local communities, as well as how music integrates into people’s lives in multiple ways. This June, CMOTF is proud to feature Elgin Pride as its Concerts & Community partner. CMOTF is glad to highlight them as an organization working for the advancement of marginalized people, and to bring people together in acceptance and celebration.
