Featuring Chicago Harp Quartet

Chamber Music on the Fox (CMOTF) presents their April concert series Sounds of the Earth April 19th & 20th. CMOTF welcomes the Chicago Harp Quartet (CHQ) as its featured ensemble for these performances. This program brings together the elements of nature and the beauty of music, prompting audiences to reflect on the inherent connection both have to our innermost selves. The concerts will feature pieces such as Sun Moon and Stars by Hariette Adie, Soiree d’Ete (Summer Evening) by Bernard Andres, and Cuban Dream After the Storm by Alfredo Rolando Ortiz. The program promises to be a special evening to sit, be still, and enjoy the symbiosis of music and nature as one beautiful experience.
The Chicago Harp Quartet is recognized as a premier harp ensemble in the United States. The Quartet offers a distinctive blend of original transcriptions spanning Baroque, Classical, and Romantic repertoire, alongside contemporary works by prominent composers. Committed to delivering innovative programming, the Quartet engages diverse audiences through thoughtfully curated performances. Each CHQ appearance highlights the members’ extensive solo backgrounds and collective passion for advancing the harp quartet repertoire.
In the 2025-2026 season, CMOTF has been partnering with local nonprofit organizations to shine a spotlight on the good work these groups are doing for our communities, as well as how music integrates into our lives in multiple ways. As both locations are located along the beautiful Fox River, and the central themes of the program are nature and the beauty found therein, CMOTF is proud to feature the Friends of the Fox River (FOFR) as its Concerts & Community partner for this series. We are excited for FOFR to come to our performances and talk about their mission and active programs. We are glad to highlight them as a nonprofit who contributes greatly to the enjoyment of nature in our community.
